Hi, I’m Sara. I’m a New York City-based data analyst with a background in journalism, passionate about transforming data into actionable insights through Python-driven automation and analysis. I’m also experienced in coding in SQL and R and in building dashboards (in Power BI, Tableau, and via Python and R).

Before transitioning into data analysis, I worked in journalism—including five years in Seoul, my parents’ hometown where I still have an abundance of family.

Pursuing a Master of Science in Data Analytics and Visualization—a deliberate step to enhance my investigative skills with technical tools—was my launchpad to working with Python, R, and SQL, as well as engaging with core statistical concepts. Learning how to use data to uncover meaningful insights has sharpened the way I think critically about information.

I hold certifications as a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Associate from DAMA International and a Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org, as well as a Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certificate.

In addition to continuing to deepen my knowledge in data and information, I enjoy writing for literary journals and composing music.
